An Abbreviated Curve Recap

For reasons that Esther mentioned in her Curve review, I wasn’t able to spend as much time at the trade show as I would have liked. The crazy travel antics that ensued that weekend also prevented me from arriving on time. I had booked a weekend trip to Portland, Maine to visit a friend (and to see its beauty for the first time), but my flights to and from were cancelled. If you must know, that is the last time I will be flying Delta. Ever.

Travel woes aside, I did manage squeeze in an hour at the show, so I stopped by a few booths I covered last season to see what was new.

First stop, Kriss Soonik! I can’t tell you how excited I am about these new pieces. They’re feel a bit dark for spring, but I love that because it’s different from the ubiquitous pastels I saw elsewhere. It can be difficult to find an edgier look during the spring and summer, but Kriss has got us covered. The fishnet material is used throughout the SS13 collection (shown above in the suspender top), and it’s a great alternative to ready-to-wear’s sheer trend. The hood in fishnet is unlike anything I’ve ever seen. I also am thrilled that she redesigned her winged robe in a soft jersey material. In past seasons, it was only available in velvet which was beautiful but I personally don’t enjoy wearing velvet. For SS13, the robe will be available in both the dusty rose shown above and black.

I love lounging in pretty shorts and camisoles. I have worn my Garconne and Eberjey shorties to death, so I’m definitely going to pick up a pair of these basic black shorties. The cuts up the front are refreshingly unique. I may have to get two pairs: one for running and one for lounging.

Beautiful Bottoms, a brand I love for its delicate prints and amazingly floaty silks, has come out with lots of new and whimsical patterns for spring. The floral padded bra + panties pictured above were so beautiful, they reminded me of being on holiday in an exotic place where women wear flowers in their hair… aloha! Wouldn’t that pattern be perfect for a swimsuit? Another gem from the collection was the sheer jade cami and shortie set. The cut of this top is so stunning, especially for smaller chested women. I’ve even worn my similar Phyllis cami to brunch in Brooklyn! The color is so perfect for spring, and I tend to love soft blueish tones because they go nicely on my fair skin tone.

I hope you like these pieces as much as I do. Do you have any favorites from Curve or this post? I’d love to hear about them!

These pieces are gorgeous! I’ve been getting into more pretty lounge things lately – I figure my husband deserves it. ;) This may be an odd questions, but since you are the lingerie expert – what brand/designer/store sells ideal bras for petite/small women?? I KNOW i have been wearing the wrong bra size for years (I suspect I am a 30 B or 32 AA) but I just can’t seem to find something that works even after going to lingerie stores here in VA. Help ! :)
