Stella McCartney’s new basics collection and lovely display at Journelle Soho’s FNO
Fashion’s Night Out is a very exciting time, especially in New York City. Anna Wintour started it in 2008 as a way to promote fashion sales because in the year of failing banks and crashing economies, nobody was buying and fashion was dying. Sadface. Since then, things have thankfully changed and FNO has evolved into a celebration of our favorite boutiques, designers and the beginning of New York Fashion Week. Lucky for me and the rest of the fashion obsessed population, it also remains a great excuse to buy things. There is so much to buy and so little time: it’s tough to decide where to spend the evening because all of my favorite boutiques had really fun events planned. This was my third consecutive year at Journelle Soho… I mean, what better way to party than with beautiful lingerie, cocktails and chocolate covered strawberries? The DJ was spinning beats that prompted even the most poised Journelles to break it down. I couldn’t help but “dance” – using that term loosely as it was fun for me and fun-ny for everyone else – to Little Red Corvette. Can you blame me, really?
Let’s talk lingerie. Stella McCartney has released a new basics line that is absolutely stunning. Translation: I want it all. The photo at the very top of this post shows most of the range, but there was one lone set (see photo below) that will be mine very soon. At first glance it looks black with gold polka dots, but when you look a little closer and realize it’s actually navy, the whole look is more sophisticated. There’s something about gold and navy that’s so stunning, don’t you think? I posted a close-up of this look on my Facebook page.

The bra below is another must-have. For me, it would be perfect to wear under a sheer white blouse or tee shirt and it’s my favorite kind of bra: balconnet. It’s just so pretty, I’d be keen to leave it in various places around my bedroom instead of stowing it away in my lingerie wardrobe. Some lingerie just deserves to be on display.

Where did you all spend FNO? And more importantly, what did you buy? xo
