Marilyn, Strapped In

WHITEDRESS_5White was the color to wear this summer. Headlines like “white hot” and “little white dress” dominated the fashion interwebs, but I think it’s looking just as fresh for autumn and winter. White and pastels offer a lovely and interesting contrast against fall’s dark palette—this is especially true when it comes to accessories—making it a great and often unexpected cocktail dress color choice. I’ll be wearing this dress to my dear friend Melissa’s annual holiday party. It’s festive without being over-the-top and is quite fun to wear. It reads a little Marylin Monroe, don’t you think?

WHITEDRESS_4I must confess: the Chromat pentagram harness is becoming a fast favorite. It’s so easy to strap on and since it’s entirely black (no chrome or gold accents), it can be paired with almost any outfit. I featured it on the blog a few weeks ago in a Lara Croft-type ensemble, and come summer I’ll be wearing it over crop tops and high-waisted skirts. I quite like having it peek out from an otherwise innocent and pure white dress… it adds that provocative edge in a soft and unassuming fashion.

Will any of you be wearing white this holiday season?

I really like the chromat harness, it definitely adds a “je ne sais quoi” to a simple “passe partout” dress.

    Belle petite touche d’audace! :)
