As if I needed more proof that Mimi Holliday produces gorgeous and well constructed lingerie, I bought this set shortly after my first (which, to put this purchase in context, was also Mimi Holliday). I’m one hundred and ten percent positive that owning more Mimi contributed to my rapidly developing addiction to lingerie. How can you blame me when the sizing and fit are so darned perfect? The panties stretch oh-so-slightly, flattering many shapes and are incredibly comfortable. The bra’s padding isn’t the type to “add three cup sizes!” but there is just enough to do a little push and shove that creates a lovely “cup runneth over” shape. Yes, even for A-cups.
Also, I adore that it doesn’t come across as bridal. There is a fine line between white lingerie and bridal lingerie, and in fact the two are often unfortunately synonymous. I credit the rustic ivory colorway which is versatile enough to play newlywed or just simple, everyday luxe.
I do have to admit that the panties are less than appealing on the hanger. When I first saw them in person, all I could think was: oh gosh, a jock strap? But fear not, the panel is almost entirely hidden when they’re on, and after wearing them time and time again, I believe it’s purpose is strictly functional. Mimi wants you to have your set for a long time, after all. And if you’re anything like me, you have a tough time owning only one piece of a matching set, especially if you initially purchased both; it’s just about as unbalanced as having yin without yang, or worse, coffee ice cream without oreos.
Don’t judge me… yes, that’s a pile of really old magazines and probably a third of my total stash. So what? I bet lots of you have similarly sized collections. Right?
