Sheer Perfection

black and white 4I just started a new novel, Breakfast of Champions by Kurt Vonnegut. I am a terrible journalism major for never having read any of his works, but I’m excited to jump in because I’ve heard that he is arguably one of the best American writers. Do any of you have a favorite Vonnegut book?

If we’re talking classic American fiction, this chemise reminds me of something Daisy (a la Great Gatsby) might wear to bed. Or to a party. The cream colored silk is cut perfectly and hits in all the right spots, making you feel as though you’re wearing a whisper of a nightgown. It’s sheer perfection (yes, pun) on balmy spring and summer days, especially if you want to wear something a little sultry underneath. This bra is one of my favorite pieces to wear with sheers because it isn’t too demanding from the front but it criss-crosses in the back. A little mischief, anyone?

Love the photo of the back! I adore that bra.

  2. This makes me want some breezy lingerie. So pretty!

I love Vonnegut. Slaughterhouse-5 is my favorite, though I haven’t read Breakfast of Champions. Let me know how it is!

I will, thanks Jill! Slaughterhouse-5 is next, though I may squeeze a few different authors in between Vonneguts. I’ve been dying to read Breakfast at Tiffany’s…

I actually just bought a sheer, purple chiffon chemise and finished Cat’s Cradle not too long ago. I liked it a lot and Simon sent me home with Breakfast of Champions from Chicago so I will read that at some point then we can discuss it. I love that top. We need to hang out soon. I love you and everything you write!
