Wearing silk like this reminds me of a weekend morning mentality, quite specifically that fleeting, savory moment between dreams and reality when everything is a fresh start. The day’s to do list hasn’t yet crossed your mind, but you’re conscious enough to enjoy lying between the sheets. It’s almost meditative, no? Of course, it never lasts long and I find it incredibly difficult to return to that mindset once the day’s tasks come flooding into my head, but unwinding in this Zinke romper and delving into a good book (lately, it’s been Grace Coddington’s memoir) comes really close.
This is one of my best loungewear investments. As always, the Zinke fit is spot on for the small busted among us and the button detail makes it a great outwear piece as well. I’ve been known to wear wear it like a bodysuit with a cute brassiere, faded cutoffs, sandals and a cardigan come summertime. I hope to pick it up in black soon enough. Lindsay you look so pretty lounging in this lovely Zinke piece. I may be a little biased here as I have the very same piece in a kind of burnt red colour, I love the buttons and the feel of the fabric on the skin. I also wear it under my jeans with a cardigan for weekend lounging too.
Silk was a fabric I used to shy away from as I always thought it rather too opulent for every day wear. Now I have changed my mind. Your description of the feelings wearing silk was so true.

Like Fortnight, Zinke is another brand that almost always looks good on my body type. I’m actually quite certain Fortnight and Zinke are my lingerie soul mates. Out of all the lingerie in my wardrobe, I wear them most often and feel feminine and attractive in their designs. I think I’ve seen posts of you wearing your Zinke romper with jeans, I adore that idea.
You bring up a good point, it is rather opulent for every day, not to mention the extra care that goes into cleaning. I do usually choose cotton jersey and modal fabrics most often, but wearing silk is an absolute treat that shouldn’t be overlooked for lounging.
